The NATO STO Exploratory Team (ET) on Human Security (HFM-ET-201) held its second in-person meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, on 3-5 May 2023. The meeting was hosted at the ISCSP – Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Politicas da Universidade de Lisboa (Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon – ULisboa). Dr Marco Marsili participated in the meeting as team member officially appointed by Portugal.
The first in-person meeting was held at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), Kjeller outside Oslo, Norway, on 27-28 October 2022.
The Exploratory Team drafted a Technical Activity Proposal (TAP) for a further three year research plan to be conducted by a Research Task Group (RTG) on human security consistently with the 2022 NATO Strategic Concept endorsed by the Heads of State and Government Summit held in Madrid.

Its intent is to maintain NATO’s scientific and technological advantage by generating, sharing and utilizing advanced scientific knowledge, technological developments and innovation to support the Alliance’s core tasks.
