The Evaluation Committee appointed by the Rector of Cà Foscari University of Venice has selected my application submitted in the frame of the European Research Council (ERC) Visiting Fellowship Programme (VFP) 23/24.
The programme is open to potential ERC candidates working at Ca’ Foscari and finances a 1-month mobility period in active ERC projects in Italy and abroad, for the amount of 2,300 euros. The mobility is aimed at strengthening the research profile and fine-tuning the project ideas of ERC candidates who will present their proposal choosing Ca’ Foscari as their host institution.
During the mobility I will be hosted at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa by Yonatan N. Gez, Principal Investigator (PI) of the ERC grant AfDevLives GA number 101041788, with the purpose to submit a ERC Starting Grant proposal titled ‘Metaverse and Cognitive Actions’ (MACA) under 2024 or 2025 call.
The mission of the European Research Council is to support frontier research in all scientific fields. ERC-funded research project aims at the achievement of results that go beyond the traditional boundaries of knowledge, with an interdisciplinary approach.
ERC aims to fully develop the potential of European research, acknowledging that, by enhancing the exposure of researchers to excellent research environments, their potential for success of project proposals can increase as well.
For this reason, Ca’ Foscari is the first University in Italy to take part in the ERC Visiting Fellowship Programme.
This initiative has been established in the frame of the HRS4R – Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, to which Ca’ Foscari has been committed since 2017.
