Appointed to NATO STO Technical Teams on AI, Information and Cognitive Warfare

In coordination with the Principal National Panel/Group or Board Member, I was appointed by the Italian National Coordinator as technical member of the following NATO STO activities for the duration of the Teams (for details see the NATO STO Website): Exploratory Team (ET) HFM-ET-214 on Cognitive Security: building and maintaining resistance to offensive cognitive strategies; HFM-ET-215 on The Ethical and Legal Challenges of Cognitive Warfare; HFM-ET-216 on Methods and Weapons of Adversary Cognitive Warfare; Research Task Group (RTG) HFM-373-RTG on Technology Enablers and Force Multipliers for CogWar: From Monitoring and Assessment to AI-based Assistance and Automation systems; HFM-374-RTG on COGARMY: COGnitive training and teamwork assessment of ARMY personnel; Research Symposium (RYS) HFM-377-T-RSY on Meaningful Human Control in Information Warfare.

As appropriate, I will be supported by resources from Italy. If necessary, a NATO Personnel Security Clearance Certificate will be submitted through the appropriate channels.

The appointment follows previous membership within NATO STO Technical Teams: SAS-177 on Defending Democracy in the Information Environment – Foundations and Roles for DefenceSAS-HFM-ET-FE on Early Warning System for Cognitive Warfare in CyberspaceIST-ET-123 on Exploring Countermeasures against Misinformation of a Nation’s Population, and SAS-185 on Indicators and Warnings for Cognitive Warfare in Cyberspace.
