I am pleased to announce the publication of my article 'Europe’s cognitive security: generative AI, hybrid conflict and democratic resilience' in issue 24 (December 2026) of the JANUS Yearbook – International Context, edited by OBSERVARE – Observatory of Foreign Relations of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL).
The article is available online first on the journal’s platform and will be published in its final version in December, in both print and free downloadable PDF formats.
The contribution analyses the impact of generative artificial intelligence on Europe’s cognitive security, examining the role of hybrid conflicts and democratic resilience in the age of algorithmic disinformation and information manipulation. The paper offers a reflection on the cognitive defence strategies needed to protect democratic processes and institutional trust.
